Enger Park - Duluth, Minnesota

 Enger Park

1605 Enger Tower Drive

Duluth, Minnesota 55806

So, I was in Duluth recently, working with the Board of Directors for the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals, as we start planning for the 2026 National Outdoor Recreation Conference, which Duluth will be hosting. Our local host and tour guide wanted to give us a taste of the area’s highlights, and took us to some incredible spots in and around the city. One of the first places we visited was Enger Park, and it really set the tone for the rest of our time in Duluth.

Enger Park is a gem that locals and visitors love for its scenic views, peaceful gardens, and rich history. The park’s most iconic feature is Enger Tower, a five-story stone tower built in 1939 as a tribute to Bert Enger, a Norwegian immigrant and successful businessman who donated the land. Climbing to the top of the tower rewards you with stunning views of Lake Superior, the Duluth harbor, and the city skyline—a favorite for anyone visiting the area.

The park’s legacy goes back to Bert Enger’s philanthropy; he wanted to create a public space for everyone to enjoy, and his vision has held strong over the years. Whether you’re in Duluth for hiking, a peaceful escape, or to take in spectacular views, Enger Park has a unique charm that leaves an impression.
