Entry 40: Fresh Lobstah and Good Vibes in Bangor, Maine

Did you know that lobster has a rich and storied history in Maine? Lobstering dates back to the early 1600s when both indigenous peoples and European settlers discovered this tasty crustacean in abundance. At the time, it was so plentiful it earned the nickname "poor man's food." Fast-forward to today, and it's the ultimate Maine delicacy.

In early August, during one of the most epic road trips ever with my buddy @bigrayinba, we rolled into Bangor. According to Ray, “We must have lobstah!” So, off we went to McLaughlin’s Seafood, where we savored the taste of this tradition at a local favorite that didn’t disappoint.

We ordered up some fresh lobster, enjoyed the cool evening breeze, and relaxed at one of their outdoor tables. The warm hospitality of the folks there, paired with the sea breeze and casual vibe, made it a truly memorable stop. If you’re road-tripping through Maine—or just dreaming about it—this is one stop worth making. And yes, they ship nationwide!
