Catoctin Mountain Park- Thurmont, Maryland

Okay, so back to my most epic road trip to Maine with by bro-skie @bigrayinba

On the way traveling north, we took a few small detours, one of which was Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, Maryland.
Catoctin Mountain Park is part of the forested Catoctin Mountain ridge−range that forms the northeastern rampart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Appalachian Mountains System. The park features sparkling streams and panoramic vistas of the Monocacy Valley.

The word Catoctin is rooted in the old Algonquin term Kittockton. The exact meaning of the term has become a point of contention; among historians, the translation “speckled mountain” is preferred. However, local tradition holds that that Catoctin means “place of many deer”.

We didn't get to stay long, and honestly, I forgot to take any pics until we left. I'll try to do better.
