Lake Texoma Fishing Trip - Captain Marty Zamora
My Dad, Uncle Bill, friend Jody and myself recently visited Lake Texoma to go fishing for Striped Bass. Years before, my Dad and I had the opportunity to take a guided trip for stripers on Lake Texoma with fishing guide Marty Zamora. So, when the time came that I knew we could go again, I called him up. We were lucky in that he had a canceled appointment one Saturday morning, June 21st! So, the four of us headed down to the lake the night before, roughing it by sleeping on the sandy beaches of the lake near Cedar Mills Marina.
The next morning came early, but the fishing was pretty darn good. Overall, we did not catch our limit, but that does not mean our fishing trip was not fantastic. Current regulations state you can only catch 10 fish per person, but only two fish may be over 20" in length. We honestly had a hard time catching small fish! What a great problem to have. As we reeled in fish after fish, Marty had to continue measuring and releasing fish, they were too big!
Overall, we had a great time on the water that day. As I have told many friends before, I would highly recommend Marty Zamora as a Striper Guide for Lake Texoma. You can find his website here: http://mzfishing.com/
